All matches in any one round must be played on or before
the pre-determined date. A match may
only be postponed with the consent of the members of the Tournament
Committee. The home team MUST offer three alternative dates,
one of which must be accepted by the away team. |
|
2 |
Teams drawn first will play at home. In the event that two or more teams from
the same club are drawn at home, when there are not enough courts available,
the match may be played on the away team’s courts. |
|
3 |
Each team will be handicapped by a certain number of points
which will be disclosed on completion of the match. The home captain will receive a sealed
envelope containing the handicap. This
must only be opened at the end of the match.
The result card must be signed and posted to HELEN PHILLIPS for the
second draw. The team with the highest
number of points at the end of the match, including handicap, will be the
winner. If the points are level at
this stage, the team with the highest handicap will be the winner. i.e. Team A has a handicap of 100, Team B
has a handicap of 50, in the event of a draw Team A will be the winner. |
|
4 |
Games will be American Scoring to 15. Three games in total must be played – NO SETTING. Scores must be recorded on the score sheets
provided and received within four days of the match being played. |
|
5 |
Teams must play their nominated players in order of
merit. Each team may nominate five
players and two reserves. If any one
player is not available a nominated reserve may play. The two reserves may not be of a higher
standard than the fifth named player.
The handicap will be based on the first seven players named. |
|
6 |
In the event of a team being unable to field five players,
once they have agreed a fixture as per rule 1, the match should proceed with
each team fielding four players. The
team who could not field a fifth player will concede 30 points. The handicap, as allocated by the
Committee, will remain the same. If a
team cannot field at least four players they will be disqualified. A team will only be allowed to field four
players on one occasion. If the
situation occurs again, for whatever reason, the team will automatically be
disqualified. As soon as a captain is aware they will not be able to
field a full team they should notify the other team captain and the Riley
Rose Bowl Coordinator. |
|

If a team has played a match and cannot fulfill their
next fixture, the team who lost to them in the previous round will take their
place. |
